Maletta Dessertia — a place where you forget about your diet

I recently visited a pastry shop in Khust

From the first step, it is clear that the establishment has character: it is not just “coffee + cake,” but a confectionery with ambitions, where desserts are the center of attention. You can find more details about their menu here:

Interior and atmosphere

The lighting is comfortable, the decor is not excessive but has a touch of style: for example, open shelves with desserts or a large display refrigerator with cakes — all this creates the feeling that you have come here not just for coffee, but for a “little treat.”
The location is also good: Lvivska Street is not super central, but it’s urban enough.
On the downside, when you come during rush hour, it can be a little noisy because there are a lot of people — which is a plus, but if you’re looking for peace and quiet, you should come early or on a weekday.

Taste and desserts

One of the highlights is the Khust cake. They say it contains hazelnuts from the fields of Khust + homemade caramel — that is, a local “feature” that makes it not just a dessert, but a “local experience.”
There is a coffee menu and many dessert options. I liked that the choice is not limited to the usual “ice cream + cake” — here you can find interesting combinations.
The prices are reasonable for this type of establishment in the city, but not ultra-budget; this is compensated by the attractive presentation and the feeling that “effort has been made here.”
The only thing is, if you come just for dessert and don’t really want to sit for an hour or two, it’s worth choosing a time when there are fewer people so you can relax.

Service and details

The staff is friendly and clearly attentive. There was never a moment when I felt ignored. But I noticed that when people came in groups or with children, it took a little longer to bring their orders (but not critically so).
Details: comfortable tables, a normal cup of coffee (not a micro-cup), a pleasant atmosphere for meeting a friend or “just me and my book.”
If you want, I can recommend this place for both “after-lunch dessert” and “evening coffee with atmosphere.”

Conclusion

Maletta Dessertia is recommended if:

  • you want a dessert with character and a local touch;
  • you want to spend your time leisurely and with pleasure;
  • you appreciate an atmosphere where you can chat and not be “on call” like in a micro-cafe.

It is less suitable if:

  • you are looking for a super-quiet room without any noise, or want to abstract yourself as much as possible;
  • you want to drink coffee at the quietest time of day — then you should choose a time other than “rush hour.”
